Metrc added a new Misconfigured column to the Items grid (placed after the Category column). The goal is to make item configuration issues visible at a glance so operators can correct item setup earlier and reduce downstream workflow errors.
Instead of finding out an item is missing required configuration when you try to package, transfer, or submit for testing, the Items grid now surfaces those gaps directly on the item row.
How the Misconfigured column displays status
The Misconfigured column shows one of two states per item:
• A red “# Issues” badge (for example, “1 Issue” or “3 Issues”) when the item has configuration problems.
• “No” when the item has no configuration issues.
The “# Issues” number corresponds to how many item fields are currently flagged as missing required data.
Field-level indicators: where the missing setup is
In addition to the item-level badge, Metrc also flags the specific fields that need attention.
Field-level indicator: When a field is misconfigured, the relevant cell displays a “Missing Data” label so users can immediately see what needs to be completed.
How updates behave: After you correct the missing field(s), Metrc updates both the Missing Data label(s) and the red “# Issues” badge count to reflect the remaining issues (if any).
Visibility note: Depending on your Items grid layout, you may need to enable additional columns to view every field Metrc identified as misconfigured. If you don’t see all flagged fields on the grid row, review the item’s details to see the complete set of misconfigured fields.
Sorting and filtering: quickly isolate misconfigured items
The new Misconfigured column supports both sorting and filtering. This allows teams to isolate only the items with issues without manually reviewing the entire Items grid.
Practical use: Many operators will treat this as a daily “master data” control—filter to items with “# Issues,” fix them, and clear the queue before those items are used for packaging, transfers, manifests, lab submissions, or retail activities that depend on correct item configuration.

What’s logged: Misconfigured fields and updates made to correct those fields.
