Getting to Know Metrc in Mississippi

In the state of Mississippi, only medical marijuana is currently legal. The state’s medical marijuana program is overseen by the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Program (MMCP).

To allow Mississippi to safely monitor their medical cannabis program, the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Act (SB2095) was passed in  February 2022. They also chose Metrc as their seed-to-sale tracking system.

On June 1st, 2022, the Mississippi Department of Health and Department of Revenue  accepted its first license applications.

There are limits as to how much product a patient may purchase in the state of Mississippi. Patients may only purchase up to 84 g of flower within a one month period.
